What is your cancellation policy?
24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule scheduled services. When we contact you, a credit card will be required to reserve your appointment. If you do not feel comfortable giving our your credit card over the phone you have and option to schedule your appointment online or a walk-in (not always guaranteed, depending on the number of scheduled appointments). Failure to cancel scheduled services at least 24 hours in advance will result in a $25.00 per person of the scheduled service fee which will be processed on the credit card retained on file for the reservation.
Must I be completely undressed?
You should undress to your desired level of comfort. Most of our clients prefer to be completely undressed, while the other half prefers to keep their undergarments on. This is completely up to you. You will undress and dress in the privacy of your massage room and will be securely covered or draped by a blanket and a sheet throughout your massage session.
Will the therapist be present when I undress?
The massage therapist will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table under the first sheet and cover yourself with a clean sheet and blanket. The therapist will knock before re-entering.
Will I be covered during the session?
You will be properly covered or draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. No areas will be exposed without your consent. You should always let your therapist know if you are uncomfortable for any reason during your massage session.
What is included in the session time?
A session consists of massage, time for you to dress and undress and time to communicate with the therapist to make your massage truly customized. Each time you visit at Touch Therapy Massage you will have a short consultation to let the massage therapist know of any areas to focus on or if there are any changes from last session. This is done to ensure each and every massage session you receive from us meets or exceeds your expectations.
How much should I tip?
Many clients are unsure if and/or how much they should tip their massage therapist. We recommend you think of your massage therapist as you would a waiter in a restaurant. Our therapists at Touch Therapy Massage love what they do and your tip may reflect your appreciation for their service. We recommend tipping percentages be based on the full price of a regular massage, rather than the discounted price.
How often should I receive a massage?
For those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life. There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief.
Are there any medical conditions that would make massage inadvisable?
Yes. It is very important that you inform your massage therapist of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care for any condition, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage prior to any session, including for prenatal massage patients. Please let the person scheduling your session know if you are pregnant or any other condition you may have when you call to properly put you with the correct massage therapist to help with your needs.
I purchased gift certificates or a package/series. Is there a time limit to use them?
There is no time limit for either product! Gift certificates maintain a consistent cash value, but certificates purchased before January 2019 may no longer reflect the full value of a service. Although we no longer offer them, an existing package deal fluctuates in value to match the current service price. Both products are non-refundable but can be transferred to another individual.
